Sketch up Model 2 [Draft]

This Upper ground level of this model was to represent the word dynamic. I tried to show characteristics of this word by creating a sphere which half of it appeared to be melting downwards from the other half, added with several protrusions, this was to demonstrate the dynamic.
The lower level, underground was designed to imitate large blood cells merged next to each other to form this massive clump of cells. I imagined inside the large overlapping outline of the curvature of theses cell-like shapes would make the person feel like they are progressing from one cellular structure to another.

The red brown hexagonal prisms represent the cellular structures beneath the earth whilst the spheres, triangular pyramids and rectangular prisms all represent the hybridisation of all these shapes. Furthermore i tried to make it so that each segment showed an explosion of each shape, i.e. the spheres are placed in a way to represent different explosions, whilst the triangular prisms i imagine to explode in all jagged directions and the rectangular prisms are all exploding from one point outwards, having an explosive depiction in a more structured form as compared to the triangular prisms.

Week 1 work (words, pictures, artists)

This piece used various sketching techniques, several similar yet still distinctively different smudging techniques were used, delineated by the leaves of the gum trees to the sky itself. The piece accentuates and over-exaggerates the perspective, where the side buildings sketched and shaded in a lesser bold colour enables the main central building piece to stand out, furthermore the side buildings themselves are vectors which are used to highlight the main piece of the artwork. Furthermore the sky itself melodramatically emboldens the central piece of architecture. It is clear that the central piece does contain most of the detail, with the window panels, the columns, bricks, texture of different bricks, shading, elevation from the base of the piece, to the centralisation of it.



This piece is extraordinary in its sense that it utilised colour to really highlight the built architecture in this image. The clash of moss green, chestnut browns down to mahogany browns and light grey stones peppered with dark spots all are exemplified in a certain way for nature itself to really blossom and shine in a way. However this built architecture sitting amidst the natural has its own slightly unnatural glow. Yet due to the pleasant golden hue it meshes well with the surrounding background making it the accentuated point of the image.



This image is chosen as my original photograph representing beauty. I took this photo with my phone couple of weeks ago when walking towards the station. The sky had been covered by a blanket of clouds and the sun glowed a white light and adjacent to it was a large scar stretching for what appeared to be hundreds of metres. It looked like God had taken a small knife and sliced down the middle of the sky. To me it appears to be a strange type of beauty as it is so big in magnitude and sublime. It instigated the curious side and made me wonder what had made this scar.
